The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) on August 25, 2025, issued a circular regarding applications for amendments to consents.
The following has been stated: -
•The MoEF&CC has issued guidelines on Consent Disposal Timeframes and a Lapse Resolution Mechanism, requiring the constitution of a State Level Monitoring Committee (SLMC).
•Maharashtra has formed its SLMC under the Secretary, Environment & Climate Change. Industries have been misusing amendment applications, causing delays.
•Henceforth, only corrections of clerical errors, name changes, and hazardous waste disposal path changes will be allowed as amendments; all other changes must be routed through fresh/revised consent applications with applicable fees.
